Based on feedback from our X-Lite end users, CounterPath has decided to reinstate the X-Lite 4 feature set, including features such as SIP-based Instant Messaging and Presence.
We have also listened to users who requested that we decouple X-Lite from our SoftPhone.com community, which we have now done. We are therefore pleased to announce the availability of X-Lite 4.5, which also includes capabilities such as SIP URL dialing and an updated User Interface (UI) based on CounterPath’s award winning Bria desktop client.
CounterPath is continuing to offer X-Lite as a free SIP VoIP client, alongside our fully featured SIP VoIP softphone Bria. While X-Lite supports core features such as VoIP, Video, SIP IM/Presence and Contacts, it does not support advanced Bria features such as XMPP based IM/Presence, IM group chat, Outlook integration, call recording and network-based directories.
