VoIP

Unified Communications is a technology that aggregates features such as voice and video calling, instant messaging, screen sharing and presence management in order to help organizations communicate better and become more productive.

In the past we have reported that Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) will continue to grow in the next decade by a compound annual growth rate of 11.2% as a result of the continuous growth of Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) programs.

A recent study published by Research and Markets asserts that while features like screen sharing, video conferencing and instant messaging will continue to grow, it is telephony that will continue to have a stronghold in the the Unified Communications market. According to the research, 36.8% of the UC market is dominated by telephony services. More importantly, this number will continue to remain stable and it is even expected to grow slightly as the hosted telephony options in the marketplace increase.

Having said that, cloud-based collaboration platforms are expected to be the subset of Unified Communications that will grow at the fastest rate.
