3 Key Insights from the National Retail Federation (NRF) Tradeshow

This year's National Retail Federation (NRF) tradeshow was one for the books. CounterPath partnered with Honeywell to demo Smart Talk, a comprehensive communications solution. We were located at the Honeywell booth #4918 for the duration of the show. The CounterPath team had a great time and had three key takeaways from the show.

1. Think outside the box in terms of mobile devices

Handheld devices can be used for more than just scanning. At this year's conference we saw a variety of vendors move towards making these devices "smart" through innovative features. Smart Talk, is an example of an all-in-one, feature-rich communication tool that works well on rugged handheld devices. This extends the value of these devices beyond barcode scanning.

2. Better connectivity across the industry improves business intelligence

Communication tools like Smart Talk are helping improve business intelligence. Through the use of smart devices, retail workers are providing immediate customer service to better improve profitability, creating an enhanced consumer experience.

3. Unified communication (UC) facilitates unified commerce

This year at NRF 2020, we also noticed UC solutions catering to unified commerce. Unified commerce is the approach in which the customer experience becomes the first priority, by leveraging a single commerce platform. This prevents various departments from operating in silos, and improves the overall efficiency of the business.

Overall NRF 2020 was a big success and we're already looking forward to next year's tradeshow!
